Salomay Agyei competed in the Distance Medley Relay (DMR) at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Tuesday, 22nd February 2022 at the Virginia Beach Sports Complex.
Agyei has been also competing in the cross country races for her school and she has been given outstanding performances in all her events. Although, she is specialising in middle-distance events.

They broke a 26-year old school record in 12:12.22. The time was over 21 seconds faster than the old record which was held by Christina Stansberry, Stephanie Anderson, Zara Eden and Twana Allen”, coppinstate wrote on Instagram

In the DMR, the Eagles from the very first lap as Jahmei Wyatt led off the relay with a 3:44 in the first 1,200m. Salomay Agyei followed with a 56-second split in the next 400m before handing off to Claudina Constantine who clocked a 2:21 in the 800m to open a ten-second lead going into the Mile.  Kamillah Monroque anchored the relay and pulled away to a finishing time of 12:12.22, nearly 24 seconds ahead of the second-place team from South Carolina State. Coppin’s time obliterated the 26-year-old school record of 12:33.29 by over 21 seconds which was run by Christina StansberryStephanie AndersonZara Eden, and Twana Allen.
