Dadzie James is a Ghanaian upcoming amateur athlete. He specializes in the 100 metres and 200 meters respectively. He is from Akim Oda in the Eastern Region. Akim Oda is where the fastest man in Ghana and the second-fastest man in the world this year currently hails from. Dadzie James The Next Azamati Benjamin On The Track.
I started running in an inter houses athletics competition at Aggrey memorial AME Zion Senior High School where the coaches realized the potential in me as an athlete. In the competition, I was the champion in both 100m and 200m. I went further to win 200m in the Inter-School Athletics Competition in 2019 and was third in 100m.
Since then, I have achieved a lot. So far, I am the fastest man in Aggrey history with a time of 10:46 seconds for 100 meters. I was part of the Central Regional 4×200 meters team that placed third in the 2019 regional games at Bolgatanga. I won the Inter-Schools and Super Zonals Athletics Competition in 2020 both 100 metres and 200 metres. I also won the under 18 division of the GNPC Ghana Fastest Human Competition that took place at Cape Coast Stadium in 2020 with the time 10:56 seconds. Recently I was first in the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) Open Championship (heat) held in Kumasi and placed 6th in the men’s finals.
I have been able to combine both sports and academic work because of proper planning, seriousness, time consciousness and hard-working. Right after training, I take my bath, eat, rest for about 30 minutes and concentrate on my academic work. This helps me to perform well academically which end me the position of the Head of the Boys Prefect of a great institution like Aggrey Memorial AME Zion Senior High School.
Furthermore, as a leader, to avoid doing everything by yourself, you learn how to delegate some of your duties to your subordinates so they can carry them out on your behalf. You should be doing effective monitoring and supervision. I always make sure there is effective communication between my subordinates and me and also this has to help me to excel in my leadership role as the boys Head Prefect.
It has always been my dream to be the fastest athlete in the world. My dad once told me “if you want to make it in life don’t give room for excuses”. With this in mind, I have no excuse to give other than to work hard to become the best. Though I started not long ago I am hoping and always working tirelessly to become the best in the nearest future.
Most people are saying he is the next Azamati Benjamin for Ghana. Azamati and Dadzie both went to the same primary and junior high school in the same district.
