The Ghana Football Association lodged a complain to Confederation of African Football (CAF) after they centre referee who was selected was from South Africa. CAF under reviewing the case has selected a new centre referee to officiate the game between Ghana and Gabon. Confirmed: Algerian Ref Lahlou Benbraham to officiate Gabon vs Ghana today.
Algerian Lahlou Benbraham has been named as the centre referee for the Total Energies Africa Cup of Nations second Group C encounter between Gabon’s Panthers and Ghana’s Black Stars.
Mohammed Abdallah Ibrahim of Sudan (Assistant I), Seydou Tiama of Burkina Faso (Assistant II), and Amin Mohamed Amin Mohamed Omar of Sudan (Assistant III) will assist the 36-year-old (Fourth Referee). The Match Commissioner will be Jean-Didier Masamba Malunga of the Democratic Republic of Congo, while the Referee Assessor will be Latré-Kayi Edzona Lawson Hogban of Togo.
