Former Black Stars and Fortuna Köln defender who is now the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) Deputy Secretary General for Football & Development, advised the team to take the lessons learned from the opening day loss to restrategize for the remaining group games. Anthony Baffoe has urged the Black Stars to exhibit seriousness and avoid smiling with opponents during their encounter against Gabon at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo in Cameroon’s second Group C Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Black Stars were defeated 1-0 by Morocco in their opening group match on Monday and are looking for a win to boost their prospects of progressing to the knockout stage.

“From day one when you move out of the dressing room when you go into the tunnel, they must feel you. Not smiles, it’s no more joking.
“Gabon is going to fall,” he declared.
He said, “You must show hunger, hunger to win, Aubameyang has recovered.
“I don’t know if it is Jonathan Mensah, Dziku or Daniel Amartey, I don’t care who is going to play at the Central defense.”

The Ghana Black Stars now sit at the bottom of the Group C table. If they fail to win this game against Gabon, is likely the senior national team will be eliminated from the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
