“You are ready for Ghana now,” Partey to Eddie Nketiah

Thomas Partey, an Arsenal midfielder, has given Ghanaian fans optimism by informing his teammate Eddie Nketiah that he is “ready to play for Ghana.”

Arsenal’s prolific streak in the Carabao Cup continued with a superb hat-trick as the Gunners defeated League One Sunderland to reach the semi-finals.

Following the game, the Black Stars’ deputy captain stated openly that Eddie Nketiah is now ready to play for Ghana, with the Qatar 2022 World Cup on the horizon.

The Ghana Football Association’s General Secretary claimed in August 2020 that contacts had been made to entice the British-born with Ghanaian parents to play for the Black Stars.

However, in an interview with Wontumi Sports, one Vincent Owusu Appiah, who claims to be Eddie Nketiah’s uncle, revealed that the 22-year-old’s father is preventing him from representing Ghana.

However, Edward Nketiah Snr has denied that he is stopping his son from playing for Ghana.

Nketiah is among the finest strikers in the English Premier League (EPL) currently. He also won the best player after his 3-goals thriller against Sunderland.

The 21-year-old has already played for England at the U-21 level but is yet to play for the senior national team, making him eligible to switch to Ghana if he so desires.

The Ghana team will be very solid during the World Cup in Qatar 2022. Ghana has already 30-man squad ahead of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon. The Afcon will commend on 9th  January 2022 and ends on 6th February 2022.

Meanwhile Ghanaian sensation Mohammed Kudus is a douth for the Black Stars of Ghana for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (Afcon) in 2022.
