According to TV3 Sports, former chairman Yaw Bawuah died on Friday at the age of 82, bringing awful news to the Asante Kotoko brotherhood.

After the reigns of Simms Kofi Mensah, who lost to Al Ahly in the Champions League final in 1982, late Otumfour Opoku Ware handed Asante Kotoko over to Yaw Bawuah to govern as Chairman in the 1980s.
After leading the team to their second Champions League trophy in 1983, after defeating Egyptian giants Al Ahly, he made an indelible stamp on the club’s history books.
