There were two cross-country events on the same day in Ghana. The one was in Accra and the other Sefwi Wiawso. Although most of the athletes preferred the Ghana National Sports Authority Cross Country (NSA XC) to Ghana Athletics Association Cross Country (GAA XC) due to the sweet promises they made during the launch.

What most people say about athletics is not being respected in the country is manifesting and it’s now visible. Note that the said tokens are not in dollars but in cedis.

Most of the athletes traveled from far to come and compete just to make the event a success. These athletes never taught anything else but set their eyes on the prize at stake. These are some of the behaviors that scare and others are being advised to stop the athletics. Most of the young and upcoming youths are losing interest in most of our sporting activities.

So is Professor Peter Twumasi aware that the token he promised the innocent athletes are not still being paid?

Why do we always take the less privileged sporting activities in the country for granted?

Could it be that the prize money had been paid but haven’t reached the athletes?
