It has been going on for the past decades which has rendered most of the lesser-known sports out of existence and they are all suffering to hold on. A lot has been spent on the Black Stars and it’s time we look else if those lesser-known sports can win medals and trophies for the county.
About 99% of the country’s population has lost interest in the Black Stars and calling on the government to take a look at the lesser-known sports for now because every year a lot is being spent and nothing good comes. Even the outrageous payment of the head coach can develop some of the lesser-known sports and they can win medals and trophies for the country.
One of the renowned and advocates for a better Ghana Athletics Agenda, Coach Elorm of the University of Ghana took to his official Facebook page and disclosed his displeasure on the state of Athletics in Ghana. He compared the current form of the Ghana Black Stars and the Ghana Athletics Team.
He wrote “Ghana’s 4 x 100 m team won Gold in African Games 2019 which is equal to the African Cup of Nations (Afcon).
They qualified for the Olympics Games, which is equal to the World Cup.
How much more proof do we need to realise government must invest more in Athletics?
When was the last time the Black Stars won aluminum for Ghana that a lot of money is spent on them with no results?
