The elite fields for the Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon have been revealed for both men and women.

Ethiopia’s Askale Merachi and Kelkile Gezahegn, the defending winners, will compete in the 50th Chevron Houston Marathon on Sunday, January 16.

Merachi took first place in the 2020 Houston marathon in 2:23:29, while Gezahegn took first place in the men’s marathon in 2:08:36.

Shadrack Korir of Kenya (59:27 PB), who finished third two years ago in Houston, will lead a strong men’s half marathon field, while Vicoty Chepngeno (PB 1:07:22) will lead a strong women’s half marathon field that features seven runners under one hour and ten minutes..

Houston marathon and Houston half marathon are the World Athletics elite label road races.
