University of Ghana Athletes are ready for a fierce showdown at the maiden edition of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Cross Country Championship 2022.

The GAF x-country has already been tipped as the biggest cross country event to be held in the West Africa, Ghana.

Currently the University of Ghana team becomes the latest tertiary institution to confirm its participation in the championship.

The UG team can boast of the Economic of West African States (ECOWAS) Games medallist Aziz Mohammed will be in action with the 2020 Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games twice medallists in 800 metres and 1500 metres Aglo Kobi, the sensational and unpredictable Sadiq Aloo and the upcoming phenomenal middle distance athlete Ishmael Offeh Acheampong.

Aziz and Ishmael represented University of Ghana at the just ended All African University Games in Nairobi Kenya. The duo was ranked amongst the best 20 top athletes in Africa in 2021.

Is the male category trophy already at stake and can they win it?

The GAF x-country is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 29th January 2022 at the Air Force Gold Park in Accra.
