UG 4×100m Relay Team Missed Mauritius 2022 Entry Standard Just 0.25

The University of Ghana (UG) 4 × 100 metres Relay Team have missed the qualification entry standard of the Senior Africa Championships just by 0.25 microseconds. UG 4×100m relay team have missed Mauritius 2022 entry standard just 0.25 at the Junior Olympics Championships in Kumasi.

The 4 × 100 metres relay team has been working together for few months now and the results they are producing is fantastic.

The quartet first competed at the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Championships on Friday, 01 October, 2021 at the Elwak Sports Stadium in Accra. The quartet won the heat in a time of 42.49 seconds. They rested for about 30 minutes and run the finals thereby setting a new championship record and personal best respectively.

During the Junior Olympics Championships the same team competed in the the heat and made a time of 40.04 thereby smashing their personal best in the first heat. The again continued to run an impressive finals in 39.75 seconds which currently is pending for rectifications as a new local national record in the men’s 4×100 metres relay.

The quartet is made up of – Mustapha Bokpin, Rasheed Abdul Saminu, Solomon Hammond and Isaac Botsio. The quartet are all students of the University of Ghana with the team led by Coach Elorm.

They missed the standard just by 0.25 microseconds
