Titi and Atia Win Verna Ashanti Marathon

One of the most phenomenal distance athletes in Ghana, West Africa currently in the female division, Titi Rosina has won the first edition of the Verna Ashanti Marathon 2022.

After winning the Maaron Championship – 10km – in Nandom, Millennium Marathon – 21km – and Corporate Run – 5km – all in Accra she continues her dominance in Kumasi again. She also placed third in the first edition of the Accra Inter City Homowo Marathon in July. Another sensational athlete Sherifa Moro placed second and Naomi Addo also finished third both runners are from the Arrows Athletic Club in Kumasi. read more

The rivalry between Ishmael Arthur of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and the University of Education, Winneba’s student-athlete Koogo Atia rekindled in Kumasi again.

Atia won the first edition of the Verna Ashanti Marathon while Ishmael Arthur placed second and David Nakousi, a senior high school student at the Adisadel College in the Central Region finished third. read more

The event took place today, Saturday, 1st October 2022 in Kumasi. The race commenced at the newly built Kumasi City Mall at 7:00 am. The participants ran through the principal streets of Kumasi – Abrepo Junction – Ahodwo Roundabout – Asafo and ended at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. About one thousand plus participants lined up for the start.
