The Prohibited List and TUEs – Doping

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has recently published the prohibited list and Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) of drugs in our sports. The prohibited list is one of the most vital anti-doping documents that all coaches, managers, athletes, and the athlete support personnel must take note of, read, and understand. If preferably further consultations must be done with all stakeholders regarding the prohibited list.

Many always ask questions like

But what is it?

How is it best investigated?

How can we stay away from it?

How can Therapeutic Use Exemptions (TUEs) grant permission to be able to use medication when sick?

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has recently published the 2022 prohibited list and all questions have been answered. There will be more rules and modifications that will be into force in 2022. These medications include changes to glucocorticoids and their related wash-out periods.

“The 2022 prohibited list is among one of the eight International Standards that are mandatory for all Signatories of the World Anti-Doping Code (Code). It designates what substances and methods are prohibited both in-and-out-of-competition and which substances are banned in particular sports” said the International Testing Agency in the 2022 prohibited list.
