The New Girl Gotytom Gebreslase Wins Berlin Marathon – Official Women’s Results
The BMW Berlin Marathon 2021 took place yesterday in Berlin, Germany. The field was packed with most of the experienced marathon runners in the world. Some of the runners were making their debuts and it was all jo after the event. The Berlin Marathon is known for its fast roads and no wonder most of the world records are set over there. The Berlin Marathon is among the World’s Major Marathons in the world. There are only seven (7) Elite Platinum Label Marathons in the world currently. The Berlin Marathon saw the return of some of the greatest marathons runners in the world.

Ethiopia’s sensational Gotytom Gebreslase won the race in 2:20:09. It was her marathon debut but inexperienced Gotytom triumph in Berlin, while Hiwot Gebrekidan also finished second in 2:2123 and Helen Tola placed third in 2:23:05. Yesterday in Berlin was all the dominance of the Ethiopians.
The 47th edition of the BMW Berlin Marathon is part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors Series, which took place under strict rules and regulations. It is the ever biggest road race event in the world since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic (covid-19). With 24,796 athletes from 139 nations participated in the race yesterday.
