The LOC provides an update on the 2023 Africa Games
Dr. Kwaku Ofosu-Asare, Executive Chairman of the 13th Africa Games, Accra 2023, has described the many efforts that the LOC has made in preparation for the games in 2023. On Thursday, December 16th, 2021, he spoke at the Accra debut of the logo, mascot, and website. The LOC provides an update on the 2023 Africa Games.
The 13th African Games’ Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will hold regional and national championships to determine athletes who will represent Ghana at the Games.
The LOC has been able to accomplish the following in its 1 year and of existence:
Find contractors and work ongoing at the Borteyman Sports Complex and University of Ghana Sports Stadium, Legon facilities through the government.
A protocol agreement has been reached.
Inaugurated the LOC’s subcommittees.
In conjunction with the National Federations, the Championship would commence in January in all 16 areas, offering technical help for the competitions.

There will also be a number of regional competitions leading up to a national event in Kumasi, where 19 regional and tertiary teams will fight for the right to represent Ghana at the games.
The 2023 African Games will serve as a qualifying event for the 2024 Olympic Games, which will be held in Paris, France. The Accra 2023 games will feature athletes from all 54 African countries.
