Coach Elorm on his official Facebook page wrote this.
“I’m saddened that the Tamale Marathon which was scheduled to take place today has been postponed.
The federation’s warning came too late as most athletes and coaches had already arrived in Tamale from afar and near to participate in the marathon. This shows how hungry coaches and athletes are for competitions.
I know a lot of organizers are taking advantage of the system to exploit athletes but the last-minute call-off isn’t the best solution too.

Going forward, the federation should come out with rules and regulations to follow in organizing private meets. It would go along to protect athletes from using their already not available funds for travelling to fruitless journey as this”.
The Tamale marathon is now scheduled for Saturday 20th November 2021. The venue and the route remain unchanged.
