Selemon Barega wins Tokyo Olympic 10000m Final
Selemon Barega the new track king won the Tokyo Olympic Games 10,000m today. The race was very packed with experienced and world record holders in both the 5000m and 10,000m.
The start of the race was very exciting as Stephen Kissa from Uganda quickly gave them about 10 seconds lead. Although Selemon Barega and Rhonex Kipruto caught him up, Selemon then dropped back and joined the pack again.
The race was described as one of the fastest 10,000m ever. Most of the journalists compared the race between the great Gabrielle Selassie and Paul Target.

There was a sprint finish between Selemon Barega, the world record holder in 5000m and 10000m Joshua Cheptegei and Jacob Kiplimo but Selemon emerged victorious. Selemon Barega has become the first World Youth Champion to win the Olympic 10,000m race. Selemon Barega wins the Tokyo Olympic 10000m final.
Interestingly all the three podium finishers were all Africans and precisely from East Africa.
