Ethiopian Samuel Zeleke came from behind to win in 4:57.00, 0.21 seconds ahead of Olympic 1500m finalist Abel Kipsang.
Zeleke came close to matching Berihu Aregawi’s world-leading time in the 3000m, which he set in Karlsruhe with a record of 4:56.97.
Kipsang won by 0.01 points over Azzedine Abz of France.
