Report GPL Week 11: King Faisal 2 – 1 Bibiani Gold Stars

King Faisal maintained their perfect home record with a 2-1 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars thanks to a strong first-half effort. Report GPL Week 11: King Faisal 2 – 1 Bibiani Gold Stars tried all their best to equalise and go home with a draw.

Ibrahim Osman and Zubairu Ibrahim scored in the first 38 minutes to put the Kumasi-based side 2-0 up.

Despite Gold Stars’ valiant recovery, which saw them cut the deficit in half minutes before halftime and play well in the second half, King Faisal was able to prolong their home dominance.

King Faisal has won 16 points in Kumasi, dropping only two, making them the best home team this season.

With a fantastic finish in the 21st minute, Osman put the home team ahead before his namesake doubled the lead.

Godfred Kyei grabbed a goal back for the visitors, who were desperate to halt their losing streak away from home.

 

However, despite a strong overall effort, they fell short once more. They have now gone six games without a win on the road, with the best result being a draw.

King Faisal has recaptured first place after a temporary loss to Kotoko, while Gold Stars remain in tenth place.
