Rebecca Agyei the next Vida Anim on the track

Rebecca Agyei is an upcoming Ghanaian track and field female u17 athlete. She is specialising in sprint events. She has been a sensational athlete and run for the Star of the East Athletics Club in the Eastern Region of Ghana. She is currently the fastest Ghanaian Female Athlete in the U17 category in 100m dash. Rebecca is also a student of Ghana Senior High School. Rebecca Agyei the next Vida Anim on the track for Ghana.

She has a personal best of 12.91 seconds in the 100 metres dash. She broke her own previous personal best time in the first heat at the Junior Olympics Championships. The Junior Olympics Championships was held at the Paa Joe Sports Stadium in Kumasi on the 17th – 18th December 2021.

Rebecca competed in two events during the Junior Olympics Championships. in 100 metres and 200 metres respectively. After winning the 100 metres race she again fought well and placed second in the 200 metres in 25.97 seconds just a few microseconds behind the champion Quansah Neseera from the Central Region.

According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Star of the East Athletics Club Mr. Kofi Osei Assibey, Rebecca is popularly known as “Bugatti is a very promising athlete and sooner or later Ghana will see her and the world at large. Other top performances from the Star of the East Athletics Club are Veronica Tsakitey who was the second runner-up in 200 metres in 26.50 seconds in the Under 20 female’s category and Derrick Agbeko also placed third in 100 metres dash in 11.39 seconds in the Under 17 category.
