A copy of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the African Games Accra 2023 Games letter states “the Technical Sub-Committee of the LOC working with National Sports Authority intends to organise National Games from 1st – 15th October 2022 in three cities; Accra, Cape Coast, and Kumasi.

Athletics to be organised in Cape Coast.

We don’t know those in charge of the proposed date whether our mother association was included in the planning or vice versa.

You are going to organise an athletics meet and you don’t know the exact date.

It’s better you specify a date and postpone later than to keep the athletes in limbo.

Who knows how the selection will be done?

Is the National Games open for all or some invited athletes only?

There are a lot of road races in Ghana in the month of October. So if an athlete runs 21km on 1st October and the LOC schedules its meet date on the 2nd October that means none of the athletes who took part in the 21km can compete again.

Some may want to compete but not advisable so don’t try!!!!!

Athletics in Ghana is very very appalling and everyone does what will favour him or her at the expense of the poor and innocent athletes!

Where are we heading to?
