Olympian Benjamin Azamati To Compete In Junior Olympics Championship
Ghana’s record holder in the 100 metres dash and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games finalist in the men’s 4 × 100 metres relays has confirmed his participation in the maiden edition of the Junior Olympics Championship.
Azamati disclosed it on Wednesday, 1 December 2021 during a Facebook live video session on Legon Creative Athletics Club’s official page. He also talked about the need for the initiative of the Junior Olympics Championship.
According to him the sole aim of this championship is for the kids and upcoming athletes.
“We need to let the kids fall in love with Athletics early. The kids may have the chance to interact, talk and I will advise them as well. People are doubting my coming to the Junior Olympics Championship in Ghana, yes I will be coming and will compete in 4 × 100 metres relays” said Olympian Benjamin Azamati.

Kids Race – (U-10 – 60m and U-13 kids race (100m and 200)
Youth Race – U-17 (100m and 200m)
Junior Race – U-20 (100m, 400m, and Long Jump)
Seniors Race – (100m, 400m , 4 x 100m Relay, 4 x 400m relay, 4 x 400m Mixed Relay)

The deadline for registration is on Saturday, 4th December 2021 at 11:59 pm
The Junior Olympics Championship is certified by the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA).
