Olympian Benjamin Azamati Receives A Hero’s Welcome In The United States
The Ghanaian community in Texas today welcomed Olympian Benjamin Azamati from the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. They gave him a red carpet treat treatment at the Texas Airport.
Desmond Aryee a Ghanaian sprinter based in Texas posted it on his Facebook page with the caption “All praise to God for a fruitful adventure towards a glorious future for our brother, our champion!! We all are super proud of you!!!”, said Desmond Aryee.

They presented him with a banquet of flowers with placards that reads: GHANA IS PROUD OF YOU! KING AZAMATI THE CHAMPION!

Olympian Benjamin Azamati runs the 100m and the 4×100m relay team. The relay team was made up of 2× Olympian Sean Safo Antwi, Olympian Joseph Paul Amoah, Olympian Emmanuel Yeboah, and Olympian Benjamin Azamati with a reserve team of Olympian Joseph Oduro Manu and Olympian Sarfo Ansah.

The Ghana Relay Team secured a final spot with a new national record in the 4×100m. unfortunately, they were disqualified in the final run with a technical error in the baton change.
The Ghana 4×100m Relay Team was the only African country to qualify for the final at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
