Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan targets Gold at World Athletics Championships & Commonwealth Games – Prior to the World Athletics Championships and the Commonwealth Games, Tobiloba Amusan has her sights set on winning the top spot at the Stockholm Diamond League.
Amusan, the winner of the Diamond League competition last year, won the women’s 100-meter hurdles event on Saturday night in Paris, setting a new African record of 12.41 seconds.

Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas, who won the silver medal at the World Indoors in 12.63 seconds, and Cindy Sember of Great Britain were defeated by her (12.73secs).
“Definitely, I have been well prepared for this competition because I have been training really hard. I came to execute well and to get the win and it worked,” Amusan disclosed. “I am not the best starter but I tried to stay with the girls: I have the national Trials coming up next week, so I am leaving home to Nigeria. Then I have the Stockholm Diamond League and will get ready for the World Championships.”
