Nakousi and Titi Victorious in Accra

David Nakousi and Titi Rosina won the Corporate Run 5km race in Accra on Wednesday, 21st September 2022.

The race started around 6:35 in the morning. Both categories set off at the same time.

David, a national athlete, and Titi Rosina all High Morale Athletics Academy athletes were pre-race favourites.

The female race became a lonely race as Titi Rosina moved away from the pack just 500m from the start. She has been a very top-notched athlete in Ghana recently. She placed third in the Accra Inter-City Homowo Marathon, second at Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Cross Country Competition, first in Maaron Championship 10km, and first in Millennium Marathon.

Her dominance in the distance events in Ghana currently is unmatched as she continues in the 2022 Corporate Run in Accra today.

Titi won the female race in a season-best (SB) and a course record time of 16:51 seconds, Vida Asakiyaba placed second in 18:44 while Reina Tuolong also finished third in 18:56 seconds.

Interestingly all the top finishers are all products of High Morale Athletics Academy which is headed by one of the renowned coaches in Africa, Mr. Boinde Boniface (Coach Boniface).

Other competitors were the University of Ghana’s student-athlete Tony Asigbey and one of the outstanding top runners in Ghana the for the past decade Kwabena Frimpong (Two Gee).

Nakousi completed the 5km route in 15:27 seconds and Hamza Alobig finished second in 15:37 seconds and Simon Ayitey also placed third in a time of 15:53 seconds.

The weather was cloudy and suitable for a short-distance race. The organisation was perfect as there was no complaint of wrong route direction by volunteers and among others.

The Corporate Run was organised by Run Ghana and Silver Star Tower Limited.
