Nadia Eke Officially Retires From Athletics

Nadia Eke is a Ghanaian female professional track and field athlete. Nadia has specialised in the Triple Jump. She holds the Ghana National Record in the Triple Jump. She made this announcement on her Instagram account which created a lot of mixed reactions from her fans worldwide.

She is the first Ghanaian triple jumper athlete to have qualified for the Olympic Games. The 28-year professional made her Olympic debut during the 2020 Tokyo Games. Unfortunately all she failed all three attempts and was counted null and void.

Before the start of the games, the Ghanaian did a video on the principal streets of Tokyo which went viral and even Fox News had to show it. Nadia Eke disclosed to Athleticshour.com “l was planning on retiring in 2020 regardless of performance. I have so much going for me beyond the sport that I need to cater to. I love it for a while but for the last few years, my heart hasn’t been in it”. Nadia Eke officially retires from Athletics.

She broke the national record in 2019 with a jump of 14.33 which also secured her the Tokyo Olympic Qualification Standard. She was named Ghana’s Flagbearer for Tokyo Olympic Games.

Frankly speaking, the whole athletes and the fans fraternity will miss her and we wish her all the very best in her next endeavor and chapter in life.
