Arrows Athletic Club is one of the leading running clubs in Ghana notably for developing young athletes especially females. The Arrows Athletic Club is based in Kumasi, Ashanti Region. The club is managed by Mr. Bright Atta.
Coach Bright popularly known as ‘Coach O’Brighta’ was a distance runner and later became a race walker. He is one successful Ghanaian race walker’s in the history of Ghana Athletics. Coach Bright has been in the running industry for a very long time. He is regarded as of the most experienced coaches’ in Ghana, West Africa. In one on one interview with Athleticshour.com, “my athletes are ready and they are coming to do something better. Our aim is to win and all the time we deliver. To win is easy for us” Coach O’Brighta disclosed.
One of the leading female athletes in Ghana currently is from their club. Sherifa Moro has been consistent for the past 3 years. Sherifa has a very successful last season although the coronavirus pandemic caused the cancelation of most of our championships.
She has been finishing in the top 3 in all her competitions in the 2021 season. She won the Ashanti Regional Cross Country Trial in a course record time.
During the National Sports Authority (NSA) National Cross Country Championship, she placed second. The championship was organised by NSA at Sefwi Wiaso, Western North Region.

Sherifa finished second again in the maiden edition of the Sekondi Takoradi Half Marathon. She is the second-fastest athlete in the 2020 season in Ghana.
Coach O’Brighta also mentioned some names and he emphatically stated that we should watch out for them. Some of the names are Amanda Kotambe, Aziah Salamatu, Mumuni, Naomi, Esther and Dahanatu. Amanda placed 5th overall in the female category last year at the 2020 Sekondi Takoradi Half Marathon.
The females will compete in a 12km route from Juanso – Agogo.
