Martha Bissah To GAA – Please Accept My Apologies – Read Full Letter

Ghana’s only Olympic Youth Gold Medalist, Martha Bissah was handed an indefinite suspension by the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA). According to GAA, Martha has made some allegations against the then GAA President Professor Francis Dodoo, and the association described it as gross insubordination, thereby handing a suspension on the athlete. Martha cannot compete for Ghana again unless she apologizes to the president and the association.  The incident happened in 2015 just after she came from China from the Youth Olympic Games.

Read the full letter of apology Martha Bissah wrote to GAA.

“I wish to humbly express my sincerest apology and utmost regret for my behavior towards the Ghana Athletics Association in general and Professor Francis Dodoo in Particular sometime in 2015.

“I am really sorry for my unprofessional and immature behavior as well as my subsequent defamatory comments.

“I know my actions have damaged our working relationship and hope this broken relationship will be restored to enable us to work together again.

“I assure you that I will not act in that manner again.

“Please accept my apologies.”

The Ghana Athletics Association is yet to issue a statement about her apology letter. She has now done what the GAA wanted her to do and her status will be reinstated into the National Athletics Team.
