Malam Yamputi has set a new course record at the National Sports Authority Ashanti Regional Cross Country Championship 2022 in Greater Kumasi.
The annual inter-district cross country championship of the National Sports Authority (NSA) Ashanti Region was successfully held on Saturday, January 22, 2022.
The event was held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Greater Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region.

In the historic explain your inclusion in the cross country, there were 35 registered male athletes. The mood was fantastic, and the weather was hazy.
There was a tough competition between four male athletes in the male category. Malam Yamputi of Amusted SHS won the race in 30:57.97 seconds, with Noah Wumboridie of Amusted SHScoming in second in 31:11.25 seconds. Bernard Tampuri of Opoku Ware Senior High School came in third in 31:24.25 seconds.
The reappearance of former Ghana University Sports Association Games 5000m and 10,000m record holder Malik Yakubu, who finished 12th overall, was a pleasant surprise. Malik has been out due to injuries for some time, and many people are wondering if the Millennium Marathon Champion is returning.
