Asler Martinez and Enrique Llopis, two young Spanish hurdlers, have the quickest times in the field. Martinez, the European Under 23 champion, upped his indoor personal best to 7.55 in Metz a few weeks ago.
In Karlsuhe, Llopis won the European Under 23 bronze medal and came in third with a time of 7.59. Andy Pozzi, the reigning world indoor champion, will be aiming to beat his season best of 7.59 recorded in Birmingham.
Jason Joseph, who broke the Swiss record in the 110m hurdles with a time of 13.12 in La Chaux de Fonds last summer, is another name to keep an eye on.
