Lets Encourage Women In Sports – WISA to sports officials
On Monday, July 27, 2021, Women in Sports Association (WISA), with the help of Mrs. Abigail Mckorley, hosted and recognised eight sports personalities at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The president of the Women In Sports Association (WISA), Madam Gloria Commodore, has urged sports officials to encourage and push women to participate in sports.

Madam Grace Armah, an Olympian in athletics, Elizabeth King, a hockey star and the Chairperson of Ghana’s Women’s Commission, Miss Christie Dodoo, a former netball and handball star, Cynthia Akwele Lamptey, a handball and football goalkeeper for Ghana, and Mrs. Joyce Mahama, a firefighter, are among the personalities. WOSPAG president Angela Ocran, a former female sports director and all-round CEPS athlete, Sammy Heywood Okine, the sole male director who supports women in sports, and Madam Commodore herself.
On behalf of the honorees, Madam Elizabeth King, a former Ghana Prisons Director, congratulated Mrs Abigail Mckorley and prayed that the government would recognise the accomplishments of the women who had excelled in sports for Ghana.

She called on all retired female athletes to join together and develop an agenda on how to help female athletes.
WISA has recently been encouraging most of the females to take sports very serious. They also awarded the outstanding female personalities in Ghana Sports few weeks ago.
They also discussed ways to help the Accra 2023 African Games LOC to be successful.
