Latifa Ali Wins Gold At MEAC in 200m
Ghanaian national female athlete Latifa Ali has won gold in the just ended Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor Championships in women’s 200m dash in 23.65.
She also competed in 60m dash and placed second in 7.47 and later joined her team in 4 × 400m. The quartet finished second in a school-record time in 3:39.73.
Latifa Ali broke her own school-record in the 200m dash, winning the gold out of the slower heat in 23.65. A junior out of Kumasi, Ghana, Ali also took second in the 60m dash in 7.47 and led by the 4x400m Relay to a second-place finish in a school-record 3:39.73. Joining Ali on the Relay to end the competition was Kimani Alphonse, Cathryn Lane and Shenelle Tomlinson.
