Kotoko Suffers Another Defeat To King Faisal – MTN FA Cup

In a closely contested game at the Baba Yara Stadium, the Porcupine Warriors suffered yet another bitter 1-0 defeat at the hands of their regional rivals. Kotoko suffers another defeat to King Faisal – MTN FA Cup.

King Faisal has now defeated Prosper Narteh Ogum’s side for the second time in less than three weeks, having ended Kotoko’s unblemished start to the league earlier this month.

The Reds manager made a few changes to the lineup that faced Legon Cities in the league last week, with Ibrahim Danlad taking over in goal from Razak Abalora.

Despite getting off to a fast start, it was King Faisal who took the lead after Yahaya scored after Andrews Appau made an error.

After that, the Porcupines improved their play and came close to equalizing when Georges Mfegue, he Cameroonian international made space for himself, but couldn’t utilise the chance.

In the second half, both teams had chances, but King Faisal held their ground to proceed to the FA Cup quarter-finals at the cost of Kotoko.

“An ill-fated afternoon,” wrote on Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s official Twitter handle.

King Faisal’s team is now very strong and difficult to beat. If they continue like this to the end of the season, there won’t be any doubt that they can qualify to Africa to represent Ghana.
