Koora Sports Consults Limited Launched “Project Athletics”

The Koora Sports Consults Limited is an initiative by the Ghanaian Legendary sprinter Emmanuel Tuffour. On Tuesday, June 22, 2021 in the Greater Accra Region was the first and ever athletics consult was launched. This event took place at the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium in the afternoon.

Who is Emmanuel Tuffour?

Emmanuel Tuffour is a former Ghanaian sprinter. He was the record holder in the 200m dash for about 22 years. This record was broken by Joseph Paul Amoah in the year 2019 which also quailed him for the Tokyo Olympic Games. But Emmanuel Tuffour is still part of the Ghana National 4*100m record holders team. This national record was set way back in 1997 and its still holds up to date. Emmanuel Tuffour has also represented Ghana in the Olympics on three occasions. Unfortunately he never won any medal at the Olympic Games but was always a contender and very difficult to beat.

Mr. Emmanuel Tuffour said “his dream is to build a sports complex in the Ashanti Region to train athletes to be able to represent Ghana at the international level. He also called on the cooperate bodies to support athletes in terms of rewarding them with scholarships and other incentives”. Koora Sports Consults Limited launched “Project Athletics”.


The Chairman of the program was Kwabena Agyapong a renowned politician and a Civil Engineer. Mr Agyapong rallied his support for the youth in Ghana with athletic potentials. Koora Sports Consults Limited Launched “Project Athletics”

Honorable Evans Opoku Bobbie, the new Deputy Minister of Youth & Sports of Ghana also graced the event to launch the dream program’ “Project Athletics”. He disclosed “Ghana’s image in athletics must be restored, while more opportunities must be given to the youth to display their talents. Hon. Evans Opoku Bobbie recalled the successes Ghana has cemented in athletics at the international levels. The exploits of Billy Lomotey, Annum Alice, Addy Oko, Ahey Mike, Rose Hart and the others. He also emphasised and needed to prepare very well ahead of the upcoming All African Games 2023 and the Paris Olympic Games 2024. He also hinted that soon the inter schools and colleges sports will be revived.

Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare, Chairman of the Local Organising Committee of the 2023 African Games said “Ghanaians should support the Koora Sports Consults Limited and the Project Athletics. He also assured the general public that the 2023 African Games would be held in Ghana and we should brushed off the rumoured that Ghana would be stripped off the hosting rights. The 2023 Africa Games that would be hosted in Ghana would also serve as the qualifier for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.


Some of the dignitaries present were President of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Mr. Ben Nunoo Mensah, President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), Kwabena Yeboah, Mr. Sandy Osei Agyemang, Former President of Ghana Athletics Association (GAA), Mr. Reks Brobbey, Founder of the Ghana Fastest Human (GFH) and 2023 Local Organising Committee (LOC), Mr. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah, 2023 Local Organising Committee (LOC), Members of Parliament, Chief Executive Officers (CEO’s) of some sponsors and the African Unity Band (AUB).

They all said that the Ghanaians should support the Koora Sports Consults Limited and the Project Athletics to be able to have a lot impact on our athletics.
