The maiden edition of the Junior Olympics Championship has successfully ended today, Saturday 18 December 2021 at the Paa Joe Sports Stadium. Ghana’s 100 metres record holder Benjamin Azamati was the side of attraction for the mega event.

Athletes from the security forces, tertiary institutions, senior high schools, athletics clubs, and individuals were present at the championship.

The event was a two-day program that began on Friday the 17th and ended on Saturday 18th December. About 200+ athletes participated in the maiden edition. The championship was held at Paa Joe Stadium Sports at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ashanti Region.

A lot of talent was unearthed and this indicates that Ghana has a promising future in Athletics.

Olympian Sarfo Ansah was also present at the Junior Olympics Championship’s maiden edition.

The Junior Olympics competition is open to all regions and is organised by Legon Creative Athletics Club and SeedAfrique in collaboration with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Sports Directorate.
