Joshua Cheptegei wins Men’s 5000m Gold At Tokyo Olympic Games (Results)

Uganda’s sensation athlete Joshua Cheptegei has won the men’s 5000 metres at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games on Friday, 06 August 2021. The reigning world record holder in the 5000m had never lost any race in the 5000 metres this year. There was a very tough race and he broke from the mass during the last 800 metres. He won the race with a sprint finish in the 5000 metres.
Ahmed Mohammed from Canada also had an impressive race and outsprint the Kenya pre-race favourite to take the second position for Canada.
There was also a dramatic finish between America’s Paul Chelimo and Kenya’s Nicholas Kimeli for the third position. Paul Chelimo dived to the finish line and won the bronze medal in a slight margin ahead of Nicholas Kimeli. Joshua Cheptegei wins men’s 5000m gold at Tokyo Olympic Games (Results)
