Patrick Allotey of Ghana was set to defend his WBO Africa super welterweight championship against Rayton Okwiri of Kenya, however, the bout has been rescheduled due to the Ghanaian’s ailment.

“Waking up to such awful news has startled us all. Patrick Allotey is unable to fight due to a shoulder injury sustained during training. Our doctors are treating him right now, and we won’t be able to provide you with any advice until they certify him fit. Sorry for the inconvenience. “Our best wishes to Rayton and the team; we were looking forward to a great fight and an Allotey victory,” he said.

“Allotey is just terrified of me,” Okwiri, who isn’t convinced, added. “I’m ready for him when he heals.” “I’m extremely unhappy; I’m hoping they’ll reimburse me for the training costs,” said Okwiri, a Kenyan boxer who reached the Olympic quarterfinals in 2016.
