Jeff Hammond Shines At Bill Ward Invitational

Ghanaian Long Jumper specialist Jeff Hammond has begun competing in his indoor season. The Bill Ward Invitational meet is his first-ever championship after joining Coppin State University in the United States.

Jeff was a former student of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and he was awarded a scholarship to study at Coppin State University due to his athletic background.

He competed in the Bill Ward International meet on Saturday 4 December 2021. The indoor championship took place at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex (Banked), Staten Island, NY.

Jeff competed in the men’s Long Jump event and he managed to finish second with an impressive leap of 7.07m.

“Congratulations to our jumpers and hurdlers for starting off their season well at the Bill Ward Invitational yesterday”, wrote Coppin State Track and Field’s official Instagram account.
