Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President, has reacted quickly to the death of former Greater Accra Regional Minister Ishmael Ashitey. Ishmael Ashitey’s death has prompted Vice President Dr Bawumia to express his condolences.
Ishmael Ashitey, a former Greater Accra Regional Minister, has died. After a brief illness, the former Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, died at the Tema General Hospital today, Friday, January 7, 2022. Ishmael Ashitey, former Greater Accra Regional Minister passes on.
Mr. Ashitey, 68, returned from the United States a week ago after seeking medical care for an unexplained illness, according to party sources who confirmed to Citi News
Dr. Bawumia expressed his condolences to the former Tema East MP’s family in a Facebook post, saying that his thoughts were with them during this trying time.

“My condolences to the Ashitey family on the passing of Mr. Ishmael Ashitey, who was an ex- Minister of State, former Tema East MP and NPP regional chairman. My thoughts are with them at this difficult period,” he wrote.
