Ishmael Arthur Shines at PAAG Invitational Championships

Ishmael Arthur Shines at PAAG Invitational Championships – Ghana’s favourite national long-distance athlete Ishmael Arthur produced a tremendous performance at the maiden edition of the Past Athletes Association of Ghana (PAAG) Invitational Athletics Championships.

The two-day mega track and field championships commenced on Friday, 24th and ended on Saturday, 25 June at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. read more

Ishmael competed in both 10,000m and 5,000m respectively. He won the men’s 10,000m in 30:58.56 second with a huge gap between the other participant in a styling finish on the first day of the championships. He placed third in the 5000m on the second day of the event in a time of 14:51.34 seconds.

Undoubtedly, he is amongst the top athletes in Ghana currently on track and road races. he won the 2018 Millennium Marathon and later competed in the Dubai International Marathon the following year. read more

Ishmael now serves in the Ghana Armed Forces and now a gym instructor at 37 Military Base Camp. The Ghana Armed Forces Athletics team won 30 medals in the two-day event.
