Guye Adola Wins Berlin Marathon – Official Men’s Results

The BMW Berlin Marathon 2021 took place yesterday in Berlin, Germany. The field was packed with most of the experienced marathon runners in the world. The Berlin Marathon is known for its fast roads and no wonder most of the world records are set over there. Guye Adola Wins Berlin Marathon – Official Men’s Results.

The Berlin Marathon is among the World’s Major Marathons in the world. There are only seven (7) Elite Platinum Label Marathons in the world currently. The Berlin Marathon saw the return of one of the greatest distance runners of all time Kenenisa Bekele. Bekele is the second-fastest man in the world in the marathon.

Ethiopia’s experienced Guye Adola won the race in 2:05:45 while Bethwel Yegon from Kenya also finished second in 2:06:14 and Kenenisa Bekele placed third in 2:06:47.

Guye Adola said this after his win “I thought before the race that I could beat Kenenisa. It was so hot, my feet were burning in my shoes.”

“The big problem for me is the lack of training because of the pandemic. I just couldn’t do as well as I hoped. That does not mean my career is over” Kenenisa Bekele said.
