Ghanaian Oly Joseph Manu Runs 11th National Collegiate Athletic Association all-time best in 60m indoors in 2022 at the ongoing Carolina Challenge in the United States. Manu won gold at the Carolina Challenge in the men’s 60 meters dash on Friday, 21st January 2022.

The event is a two-day challenge that began on Friday 21st – Saturday 22nd January at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC, United States.

Joseph Manu Wins Gold at Carolina Challenge

Manu ran a 6.71 in the 60m dash heat and finished fourth overall in heat 3. His time qualified him for the finals, and he impressed the field with his Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games experience.

Manu has represented Ghana multiple times, and he was also a member of the quartet that broke the national 4 × 100 meter relay record, qualifying them for the Olympics in Silesia, Poland. Despite winning bronze in the final, the Ghanaian 4 × 100m relay team was disqualified.

Joseph Manu runs 6.69 seconds in the final to win gold while Eric Harrison placed second in 6.73 seconds and Dante Brown finished third in 6.77 seconds. Joseph moves to the 11th National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) leader board and is currently the 11th fastest athlete in the United States.
