Ghanaian Athletes Shine At African Para Taekwondo

At the 5th African Para-Taekwondo Championship, held in Niger from the 3rd to the 4th of February 2022, Team Ghana won two gold medals and one bronze medal, as well as trophies for BEST COACH (Female) and 3rd BEST TEAM.
The tournament drew a total of eight African nations.
Patricia Kyeremaa of Ghana won the overall best female athlete in Africa award at the Championship.
On the male side, Emmanuel Kofi Turkson defeated his African rivals to earn Gold for Ghana, emerging as the Championship’s overall best Para Athlete.
George K. Ablemotsi, the Bono Regional Taekwondo Coach, also received a prize for the Best Coach (Female) of the tournament.

The National Taekwondo Team is also in Niamey to compete in the 2022 Open Taekwando Championships from February 5-6.
The team is comprised of two female athletes, three male athletes, and two coaches.
