The first championship to open the 2022 season for Ghana’s Track and Field Athletes is the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) Circuit Games.

The Ghana Athletics Association in collaboration with the regional Athletics Association will be organising its annual circuit games across each region.

The motive behind this circuit games is to select the best athletes to represent the country in the upcoming international games.

Baba Yara Sports Stadium Tartan Track Is Open For Athletes – Director of Sports 

According to our close reports, GAA has given an amount of Ghc 1,000 to each region to facilitate and transport its athletes to the designated venue of selection.
The host region will receive Ghc 2,000 for the whole preparations of the event.

The circuit games is a one-day meet and everyone is qualified to participate.
Also every athlete from each region can compete in all the four meetings but the athlete bears all the cost.


Note: The selection of athletes for the National Justify will be based upon your times but not coming first in your regional circuit game.
For example. An athlete can run 200m in 20.56 at Central Region and places 4th in the final.
Another athlete from Tamale can run 21.34 in their regional circuit games and places 1st. Remember that the one who placed 4th at Central Region will be selected.

Below are the full meeting schedule and the respective venue.

Northern Zone –  Circuit Games – Venue – Tamale – 12th February

Middle  Zone – Circuit Games – Venue – Sunyani – 5th March

Southern Zone – Circuit Games – Venue – Koforidua – 12th March

Coastal Zone – Circuit Games – Venue – Cape Coast – 26th March
