“I was not training during the coronavirus pandemic (covid-19) period which affected me a lot. As an athlete training without any competition makes running boring and sometimes brings stress” Barnabas disclosed. During the covid-19 period, a lot of championships were postponed and later cancelled. It’s very stressful when you hear that a competition you are preparing for has been postponed or cancelled.
“I also give thanks to my Coach Georgina Sowah, she has really helped me to improve on my speed and endurance which has helped me to run a new personal best. Now I have set my eyes on the upcoming 13th African Games that will be held in Ghana in 2023. I hope to be part of the Ghana Team to compete in the games” said Barnabas Dompey.
