Ga Mantse Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II endorses Accra Inter-City Marathon – The Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II on Monday welcomed organisers and sponsors of the Accra City (Ga Homowo) Marathon to his office at the Ga Traditional Council, Ga Mantse Palace, Kaneshie.

He wished for a successful event and urged them to promote the Greater Accra region and the Homowo Festival to be an avenue for peace, unity. love and merry-making.

He also commended the headline sponsors, HD+, and encouraged more companies to support the event. read more

Nii Ayi Bonte II. Gbese Manste said sports promote peaceful cohesion and was glad to know that runners from Kenya and elsewhere are coming to participate in the event. He expressed that other places like Kwahu and Sekondi Takoradi have had their share of the Marathon, and believes the Homowo Festival will be spiced by the Homowo Marathon.

He appealed for adequate security and comportment from the participants to make the 2022 Accra City Marathon a success.

Mr. William Ezah, CEO of Medivents Consult said preparations for the 2022 Accra City Marathon are advanced and he prays that the chiefs and people of Accra will participate fully.

Nii Nettey Nettey, a sports enthusiast and Treasurer of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) who led in presentations to the Ga Traditional Council believes inviting the elders of the Ga State to be part of the event is worthwhile and is going to motivate as well as inspire many people to take part in the Marathon.

Some members of the Ga Traditional Council present were Nii Dodoo Nsaki II Otublohum Mantse, Nii Ayikai III Akumadje Mantse, Nii Quao Donkor III Asare Tsemo Mantse, Numo Akwea Mensah III Nae Wulomo, Numo Ogbamey III Sakumo Wulomo, Numo Nikoi Amarsah II Klan Wulomo and Nii Ayan Kato Fai II Faitse.

Some officials from HD+ who were part of the delegation presented souvenirs to the Traditional Council.

Meanwhile, the launch of the Accra City (Homowo) Marathon has been fixed for Wednesday, July 6th at the Oceanic Resort at Korle Gonno in Accra.
