Friday, January 7 has been declared a National holiday by the government

To commemorate Constitution Day in 2022, the government has announced Friday, January 7, 2022, as a public holiday. Friday, January 7 has been declared a National holiday by the government.

Constitution Day is a brand-new public holiday in Ghana, which was honored for the first time in 2019.

Section 2 of the Public Holiday Act of 2001 proclaimed the day a holiday (Act 601).

The 1992 Constitution went into effect on January 7th, 1993, and the Fourth Republic was born.

Ghanaians will be reminded of their commitment to supporting the rule of law, constitutionalism, and democracy on the newly recognized holiday.

The general public, on the other hand, is expected to mark the day as such.

The information was released on Thursday, 30th December 2022 by Interior Minister Ambrose Dery in a statement.
