Former GAA President Prof Doodo Honoured At Penn State University

The former President of the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) Prof Francis Doodo has been honoured at the 2022 Penn State University’s distinguished professors. He was selected to be part of the 21 professors whose contributions to the university were outstanding.

Francis Dodoo is a professor of sociology and demography and African studies at the College of the Liberal Arts.

He resigned as the president of GAA prior to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

“Ghana Athletics President Francis Dodoo resigns. According to the association, Prof. Dodoo has been promoted to serve as Chairman of Governance for World Athletics. Vice President Ababu Afielek takes over from him as the head of the association”.

Penn State’s Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs has named 21 distinguished professors for 2022.

The distinguished professor title recognises the outstanding academic contribution to the University. This special academic title is bestowed upon a limited number of outstanding professors for whom endowed chairs or professorships are otherwise unavailable.
