The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) is set to recruit 630 athletes in all sport disciplines across the nation. GAF will be monitoring and recruiting these athletes from time to time.

According to Colonel Akoto, all the athletes will not be recruited in a single window but it will be a gradual process and the GAF has some plans and rules they are following in recruiting these young and vibrant athletes in the country.

“We have a plan of putting in more. The plan is to have 630 athletes in all the sporting disciplines. Work is in progress, we won’t recruit all of them at goal if not they will grow together and the team will be wiped out. The older athletes go first and the younger ones will follow”, revealed by the Director for Physical Training and Sports of the Ghana Armed Forces Colonel Richard Akoto.

According to him the high command has shown a lot of interest in the recruitment of the 630 athletes and it’s a great opportunity which was given to them of knowing the importance of sports.

“We want to have a team that can compete at the national level and at the international level anytime”, he emphasised.
