Ghana youth Economic Communities of West African States (ECOWAS) Games medallist, Aziz Mohammed has confirmed his participation at the maiden edition of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) X-Country Championship

Aziz is currently one among Ghana’s greatest middle distance athletes. In the track, he specialises in the 1500 metres and 5000 metres distances. As a young athlete, he has represented Ghana on numerous times and won numerous medals.

In the Central Region Inter-Collegiate Games, he presently owns the records in the 1500 metres and 5000 metres. In the Central Region’s Adjumako, he won the National Cross Country Championship.

In an exclusive interview with Athleticshour prior to his preparations for the GAF x-country championship, the ECOWAS medallist stated that the coronavirus epidemic ruined his 2021 season (covid-19).

“My training is going on well and preparation towards this competition is very high because. This season is a season of records because last year due to COVID we couldn’t put much effort in our competition but since our school sports is back again it will help us to build a strong and better team for any competition ahead of us, as compared to last year”, Aziz said.

Aziz is currently pursuing his schooling at the University of Ghana, where he is a member of the cross country squad.

Coach William Akuka, the legendary and fantastic coach, is now his coach. Coach Akuka is regarded as one of Ghana’s early long-distance athletes.
